| Abstract | This study, prepared for the Connecticut Department of Transportation, presents the results of the evaluation of radar detectors and speed-based incident detection algorithms. These elements are used in the Hartford Area Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) which is an FHWA operational test. This report will provide information on the system design, the accuracy of the field equipment, and the effectiveness of the incident detection algorithms including a comparison with other incident detection algorithms currently in use. 72 p. |
