Abstract The national ITS architecture, is the common framework for interoperability adopted by the US DOT Secretary, and which defines the functions associated with ITS user services; the physical entities or subsystems within which the functions reside; the data interfaces and information flows between physical subsystems; and the communications requirements associated with the information flows. The ITS/CVO elements are a subset of the National ITS Architecture. The ITS/CVO information systems and networks portion of the National ITS Architecture.
