Abstract The Urban Commodity Flow Data Collection and Analysis project is a joint effort between Oregon State University (OSU) and the City of Portland, Oregon Travel Forecasting Group (Port of Portland and Portland Metro). The broad objective of this project is to gain a better understanding of the role of the trucking industry and the requirements that it places on the highway managed by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT). Specifically, the project focuses on leveraging technology to supplement data collection methods typically used to aid in the development of commodity flow models by the Travel Forecasting Group.
