Abstract Author's abstract: A review of the literature on the existing state of knowledge of the role of alcohol in pedestrian accidents indicates that little is currently known. It is concluded that more data are needed before the extent of any pedestrian safety problems involving alcohol can be quantified or countermeasures can be devised.
