| Abstract | An analysis was made of the potential legal constraints on the use of mechanical devices to supervise drinking and driving restrictions. These conceptual devices would be installed on vehicles operated by restricted drivers. Two devices contain psychomotor tests and are designed to prevent driving during prohibited times of the day. Analysis of current law revealed that the proposed devices would be a constitutional means of enforcing drinking and driving restrictions. Methods for use of the devices that will resolve other possible legal constraints are presented. /Abstract from report summary page/ |
