Abstract The purpose of this study was to subject the Motorcycle Safety Foundation's Motorcycle Rider Course (MRC) to a large-scale field test designed to evaluate the following aspects of the course: (1) Instructional Effectiveness, (2) User Acceptance, and (3) Administrative Feasibility. Results of the field test evaluations indicated that: Course graduates acquired the basic skills and knowledge required for street riding; The MRC is administratively feasible in terms of its schedule, costs and demands placed upon instructors, students and facilities; Students and instructors found the course to be a valuable and enjoyable experience; and School administrators and parents approve of the course and would like to see it continued in their school system. Findings regarding a number of other rider education research issues are also reported. /Abstract from report summary page/
