Abstract The purpose of this research was to develop a computerized system to determine the adequacy of a bridge or group of bridges to carry specified overload vehicles. The system utilizes two levels of analysis. The Level 1 analysis is the basic rating system for the Arizona Department of Transportation. This analysis computes the overload capacity with a limited amount of data. A Level 2 evaluation, which conducts a more detailed evaluation, uses an enhanced NBIF database, Standard Plans, or a more detailed analysis similar to Brass. A Special Leel 2 analysis was also developed to analyze continuous slab bridges by utilizing data from standard slab plans.
