| Abstract | Case studies are presented that illustrate the application of methods which incorporate decisionmaking under uncertainty. The applications of these methods that are summarized in this paper deal with cases outside of transportation, including military planning and planning for higher education systems. The cases are indicative of ways in which such methods might be applied in transportation and comments are offered regarding opportunities and difficulties that might be involved if such methods were extended to applications in the field of transportation. |
