Abstract The purpose of this Phase 2 Study is to compare national motor vehicle accident projections made from the Crash Avoidance Research Data base (CARDfile) with national motor vehicle accident projections made from other data bases. For the most part, the comparison will be with data derived from the computerized data bank of the National Accident Sampling System (NASS). Where appropriate, data from the National Safety Council's "Accident Facts" will also be utilized. Phase 1 of this project compared the distribution of people, vehicles and roads in the CARDfile states with the nation.
