Abstract The logical basis for prioritizing Coast Guard AtoN battery disposal sites for character ization and treatment rests with values. The question is, "What does the Coast Guard wish to achieve by cleaning up these sites?" Four separate meetings with Coast Guard personnel concerned with AtoN battery sites were held to discuss their values for cleanup operations. This report presents the results of those discussions in the Appendix. For each of those discussions, we converted the list of values stated into objectives useful for appraising possible cleanup programs.
