Abstract A 1300-foot array of horizontal and vertical single-axis anemometers was installed at the Memphis, TN Airport on 10- and 13-foot poles under the approach to Runway 727. One-minute average measurements were recorded continuously from mid August 1995 through late December 1995. Although the original purpose for the anemometers was to track the lateral position of wake vortices, the measurements also provide a database of wind and turbulence that can be used for other purposes. For example, the crosswind data could be used to evaluate adaptive wake vortex separation systems based on the measured crosswind. This report documents the data formats and database characteristics and provides information on how to obtain a copy of the data.
