Abstract General Facts: 930 persons were killed, a 6.04 percent increase from 1999. 79,806 persons were injured, a 1.72 percent decrease from 1999. 141,650 traffic crashes were reported, a 1.49 percent increase from 1999. There were 5,034,297 licensed drivers, a 1.86 percent increase from 1999. There were 81,356,000,000 estimated vehicle miles traveled, a 2.38 percent increase from 1999. There were 6,313,411 registered vehicles, a 3.77 percent increase from 1999.
