| Abstract | Chronic exposure to the chlorinated hydrocarbon, lindane, elicited alterations in several biochemical values of rat tissues. These included ribonucleic acid quantities, water content, and the cytochrome oxidase activity of heart sarcosomes. The chlorinated hydrocarbon, dieldrin, produced changes in the uptake of L-methionine by the particulate components of chick heart and liver cells. The specific alterations and the implications of these alterations are presented in the text. |
