Abstract To determine the attitudes of Airway FacilitieS (AF) personnel to the proposed New Maintenance Concept (NMC), an extensive questionnaire was mailed to all employees. Of 11,569 questionnaires distributed, 6,976 were completed and returned. Responses to the NMC questions were analyzed with respect to employee characteristics, job satisfaction measures, shift work, and general health variables. This report summarizes the findings from the NMC questionnaire and provides a technical documentation of the completed study. However, regular consultation with Airway Facilities Service (AAF) officials was conducted throughout the data analyses period for use in management decisions regarding this developing concept. Also, although the functions of AAF were formally assumed by the Systems Engineering Service (AES) and Program Engineering and Maintenance Service (APM) in a reorganization effective October 4, 1982, the older designation (AAF) will be used throughout this report.
