Abstract Field test results of accuracy and coverage for an ATCRBS based surface trilateration sensor at Logan International Airport are described. This sensor was previously tested at NAFEC for feasibility and because of a lack of sufficient aircraft traffic and multipath, further tests were recommended at an operational airport. These tests show that a beacon trilateration sensor can accurately determine the position of a transponder equipped vehicle on the surface, extract its beacon code and provide excellent coverage without interference with the operational ATCRBS.
