Abstract This memorandum provides a preliminary feasibility assessment for a bicycle or combined bicycle/pedestrian (i.e., multi-user) facility at Appomattox Court House National Historical Park (NHP). This assessment is based on discussions with park staff, the VDOT Resident Engineer, and the Region 2000 Commission trail plan coordinator. It also is based on a site field reconnaissance, the collection of new data (i.e., the collection of the geo-coordinates and the lateral offset from the pavement edge of existing trees within the right-of-way (ROW) limits of the Rt. 24 corridor that bisects the park), and the review of maps, drawings, and reports.
