Abstract This report presents an evaluation of the rail portion of the Transit Reliability Information Program (TRIP), which was designed to collect and analyze equipment reliability data on U.S. transit systems. This assessment was conducted at the end of its experimental phase. The objectives of this evaluation were to determine how well TRIP achieves its stated objectives, identify the costs and benefits of the program, and make recommendations for improvement.
