| Abstract | The TSC Freight Energy Model is applied to a preliminary analysis of two energy conservation options: (1) increased use of Run-Through TOFC rail service; and (2) use of double 40-foot trailers on all divided highways. These options are examined primarily within the limited context of competition for movement of intercity freight which presently moves in single trailer highway service. |
