Abstract The Transit Reliability Information Program (TRIP) is a government-initiated program to assist the transit industry in satisfying its need for rail transit car subsystem reliability information. TRIP provided this assistance through the operation of a national Data Bank. This Data Bank collected, stored, and analyzed data which was generated by transit operators during the course of revenue service operation equipment maintenance. The results of the periodic analyses of the stored data were distributed to TRIP participants and users. This report contains a summary of the development, operation and expansion activities of the TRIP from its commencement in September 1978 through completion in February 1984.
