| Abstract | This report evaluates the requirements relating to a multi-function data link for an advanced Air Traffic Management System. A two-way time ordered data link is postulated to accomplish the communication and control function. Several candidate modulation schemes and methods for obtaining a time reference are also discussed. The availability of a suitable time reference are also discussed. The availability of a suitable time reference could also serve as the basic ingredient of an integrated communication, navigation, and surveillance system. |
