Abstract This volume contains detailed background material in support of findings of the Interim Report. It includes the findings of a survey of attifudes towards daylight saving conducted by the National Opinion Research Center; description of sunrise and sunset times; analyses of the effects of the change to year-round daylight saving time on electricity, travel, and heating fuel, and on motor vehicle fatalities and accidents and the safety of school children; and a description of the equivalent day methodology devised for this study.
