Abstract This manual describes the internal workings of the Disk Operating System (DOS-32 for the Noneywell H - 632 computer. DOS - 32 is a core resident, one user, console oriented operating system written primarily in FORTRAN. DOS - 32 consists of an interactive command language, a file system and disk management system, a collection of system programs and an extended FORTRAN library. The DOS-32 I/O system controls the disk, paper tape, line printer, card reader, and magnetic tape drives. The sytem prorams include a FORTRAN compiler, a MACRO assembler, a loader, an interactive editor, an on line debugging program, and a generalized routine to copy data from one storage medium to another. The extend FORTRAN library includes file accessing routines, peripheral device I/O routines to manipulate words, halfwords, characters, hexadecimal digits and bits. DOS-32 generation and system program eneration are described in detail.
