| Abstract | The manual is a user's guide to the automation of the 'Summary of National Transportation Statistics.' The System is stored on the in-house PDP-10 computer to provide ready access and retrieval of the data. The information stored in the system includes cost, inventory, and performance data describing the passenger and cargo operations of the following modes; air carrier, general aviation, automobile, bus, truck, local transit, rail, water and oil pipeline, as well as supplementary data on transportation and the economy. Included in the user's guide is: an explanation of the coding system developed for the different transportation modes; sample outputs and instruction on the use of the reports and plots developed; a listing of the information contained in the system. |
