| Abstract | This report studies the potential for primary weight reduction of a 1979 Oldsmobile Omega X-body four-door sedan, by substituting aluminum components for iron and steel components where suitable. A secondary weight reduction is mentioned but is not detailed. This secondary weight saving is due to the fact that smaller and lighter supporting structure may be employed because of the reduced primary weight. |
