Abstract A 259-meter windline, with horizontal and vertical single-axis anemometers mounted on 9-meter poles, was installed at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport under the approach to Runway 17C, as part of NASA's Aircraft Vortex Spacing System (AVOSS) development program. Real-time processing algorithms provided wake vortex tracking information. Additional weather sensors, including additional anemometers, temperature and dewpoint, weather sensor and a soder wind profiler were deployed at various times of windline operation. Wake and meteorological data were provided in real time to AVOSS. This report, Volume 1 of a two-volume report, describes the installation, the data processing algorithms, and the data files supplied to AVOSS.
