Abstract This report describes a computer simulation model developed at the Transportation Systems Center to study the electrical power distribution characteristics of Automated Guideway Transit (AGT) systems. The objective of this simulation effort is to provide a means for determining the power distribution requirements of AGT systems and for evaluating their performances under varied operating conditions. Typical systems which could be modeled include the Morgantown Personal Rapid Transit System, the Dallas-Fort Worth Airtrans System, or one of the proposed Downtown People Movers. This report specifically describes a Fortran computer program which models the electric power requirements of a typical AGT system.
