| Abstract | Volume 1 of this report describes model tests and analytical studies based on experience, interviews with design engineers, and literature reviews, carried out to develop design recommendations for concrete tunnel linings. Volume 2 contains the proposed recommendations which take account of the ultimate strength behaviour of reinforced and unreinforced concrete linings, and provide sufficient latitude for designers to exercise judgement gained from experience and allow the flexibility required by specific site conditions. |
