Abstract This research will support the development of instrument procedures for performance-based navigation (PBN) operations. These procedures include, but are not limited to, area navigation (RNAV) and required navigation performance (RNP) operations. The research must consider the interactions between flight deck design, implementations, flight operations, local Air Traffic Control (ATC), and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSP). This research must also address all types of operations: Part 91, (including piston-engine and jet operations), Part 135 (air taxi and charter), and Part 121 (commercial scheduled service). Military and single-pilot operations should also be considered.
