| Abstract | This volume consists of profiles for each transit agency filing a National Transit Database Report for the 1998 Report Year (January 1 through December 31, 1998). The profile consists of general, financial and modal data, as well as performance and trend indicators for the year. For the 1998 Report Year reports were submitted to the National Transit Database. Of these, received exemptions from detailed reporting under the "nine or fewer" vehicles across all modes of service (non-fixed guideway) rule. Another were excluded after extensive review and validation raised questions concerning the data submitted. Consequently, transit agencies comprise the full database for the 1998 Report Year. The transit profiles have been arranged alphabetically by state and urbanized area to make it more user friendly. Transit agencies are listed by their legal name as reported to the National Transit Database Program and include their acronym, if known. The left side of the profile contains both general and financial information. General information includes urbanized area statistics, service area statistics, service consumption, service supplied, and vehicles operated in maximum service. Financial information includes fare revenues earned, sources of operating funds expended, summary of operating expenses, sources of capital funds expended, and uses of capital funds. Two pie charts depict sources of operating funds expended and sources of capital funds expended. No chart appears when an agency's report indicates a zero value or only one source of funds. |
