Abstract This report documents a study which analyzed various transportation options for Apostle Islands National Lakeshore (APIS) to pump toilet systems and perform construction support activities. The report presents the background of the study; describes the required missions for the transportation options; analyzes the costs and labor hours of the various transportation options; and presents the study’s findings and conclusions. The estimated costs for each operating model were analyzed based on the initial cost, total costs, and labor hours for the 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 year periods. The costs were also separated to describe the operating cost to the park as well as the total ownership costs to the National Park Service.
