| Abstract | RWMP is currently engaged in a project to evaluate the potential benefits of road weather connected vehicle applications. Of particular interest are the potential improvements in safety, reductions in travel time, improved travel reliability, reductions to environmental impacts related to road treatment, and other possible benefits. The project includes the development of road weather connected vehicle applications concept of operations and benefit-cost analysis (BCA) of those applications. The concept of operations was completed and is documented in a companion report entitled “Concept of Operations for Road Weather Connected Vehicle Applications”. Th e BCA was conducted in two phases; Phase I focused on evaluating safety benefits and Phase II evaluates the additional benefits including mobility, reductions in environmental impacts, and reductions in operational costs. |
