Abstract In early September, a team of transportation experts, researchers, and engineers successfully demonstrated a five vehicle platoon test on an inactive naval air base in Willow Grove, PA. The team included personnel from the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) Saxton Transportation Operations Laboratory, Leidos, TORC Robotics, and California Partners for Advanced Transportation Technology. To demonstrate platooning and expand on current connected vehicle research, the team spent 2 weeks at the base testing a fleet of Cadillacs equipped with Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control (CACC).
