Abstract This study evaluates the current shuttle system and Eisenhower National Historic Site, which is currently the sole access to the site. Visitation at Eisenhower has been declining since the site opened, and the study looks at the impacts of this trend on the shuttle system. The study provides a preliminary analysis on the impacts of allowing direct access to the site, and what would need to be considered if parking lot were to be constructed. This study also develops visitation demand scenarios based on the capacity of the site, and uses these scenarios to consider the future of the shuttle system, or of allowing visitors to park on-site. The study concludes with recommendations to improve the current shuttle system, re-evaluate the contracting mechanism for the shuttle, and items for consideration if the park pursues on-site parking at Eisenhower.
