Abstract BUS TRIP (Transit Reliability Information Program) is a Government sponsored response to an acknowledged need tocollect, analyze, and disseminate bus equipment reliability information on a national basis. It is a parallel extension to rapid rail vehicle (RRV) TRIP and is designed to use the present TRIP structure and experience in collecting and processing data. This report describes the purpose, approach, development, coding, and- conclusions of Task B, "Establish Bus Equipment Reliability Lists" of the BUS TRIP contract. The effort here represents the development of source material into equipment lists representing the five most prominent bus models that are or will be found in use throughout the USA. From these lists, a master generic parts list representing a comprehensive list of all the components contained in these buses has been generated. Consistent with the above development are the two objectives of Task B. First, to identify bus transit equipment to be monitored in the data bank and second, to establish a uniform component identification system, coded to accommodate various bus monels.
