Abstract This report summarizes proceedings of an Automated Vehicle (AV) modeling peer exchange sponsored by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and hosted by the Maricopa Association of Governments in Phoenix, AZ, on June 27, 2019. The purpose of the peer exchange was to discuss the potential impacts of emerging technologies, such as AVs, on the long-range transportation planning process. Five peers from metropolitan planning organizations across the country participated to share their experiences and perspectives. The event was sponsored by FHWA through its Transportation Planning Capacity Building Program, led in partnership with the Federal Transit Administration.
