| Abstract | Representatives from the highway construction industry approached the Fort Worth Independent School District and requested that a secondary education program in highway construction be developed and implemented. A proposal was developed and submitted to the Federal Highway Administration for funding to develop a pilot educational program for high school students to prepare them for career opportunities in this industry. The program was designed so it can be replicated nationwide by other educational institutions. This manual outlines the start-up procedures and provides information to assist other school districts with implementing a similar program. |
