Abstract This paper is a survey of several models used in the U.S. to estimate the impact of greenhouse gases (GHG) control strategies in the surface transport sector. The models chosen for review were selected to represent both the state-of-the-art, and the state-of-the practice. While this paper does not attempt to review all possible models in the U.S., it is quite comprehensive in its coverage of models that are widely used, or ones widely acknowledged as the state-of-the-art by leading researchers in the field.
