| Abstract | In accordance with the National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS), all highway bridges on public roads must be rated and posted, if required, for all legal loads and unrestricted routine permit loads. The Memorandum reminds States that the Specialized Hauling Vehicles (SHVs) must be considered in bridge load rating and posting if such vehicles are legally allowed to cross the bridge. |
