Abstract This annual summary reports the activities of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) on Major Projects for Fiscal Year (FY) 2018, as of October 1, 2018. The FHWA takes a leadership role in advancing transportation initiatives through the stewardship and oversight of Major Projects, which are defined as those with a total cost of $500 million or more. 23 U.S.C. ยง 106(h). In FY 2018, there were 90 active Major Projects. This annual summary documents the performance of these Major Projects and the actions FHWA has taken to improve their performance. Active Major Projects are those that have completed National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) decision documents, have begun the next stage of project development, and are actively advancing in design or construction. Since FHWA started tracking Major Projects in 2001, 49 Major Projects have been completed. Three of these projects listed below were completed in FY 2018.
