Abstract Every Day Counts is the Federal Highway Administration’s initiative to advance a culture of innovation in the highway community in partnership with States. Through this collaborative, State-based effort, FHWA coordinates rapid deployment of proven, market-ready strategies and technologies to shorten the project delivery process, enhance roadway safety, and improve environmental sustainability. This report documents a series of summits held in fall 2012 and spring 2013 to launch the second round of Every Day Counts innovations. It highlights the key role summits play in the Every Day Counts innovation deployment process and outlines the impact they have on the initiative’s progress. The report is intended as a resource for the highway community as it develops a new business model to encourage ongoing innovation in managing highway project delivery to better serve the Nation.
