New Search / Simple Search

Step 1: Choose a database
   Options:

• NTL Catalog
• NTL Digital Repository
• Other Transportation Web Sites

Step 2: Enter search terms

• Enter one or more search words
• Boolean Searching is supported; AND is the default
• Phrases must be enclosed in quotes.
• Search terms are not case sensitive. 
  Example: highway trust fund finds Highway Trust Fund, HIGHWAY TRUST FUND, and highway trust fund.
• Word Stemming is not the default. 
  Example: speed bump will not find records with speed bumps.
• Truncation is supported. The symbol is the asterisk *.

Step 3: Select Search Index
   Options:

Field Names	Notes
All Keywords	Includes All Title Keywords, All Author Keywords, All Subject Keywords, Abstract, Table of Contents, and Source
All Author Keywords	Includes Personal Creator, Personal Name Contributor, Corporate Creator, and Corporate Contributor
All Title Keywords	Includes Title, Foreign Title, Journal Title, and Conference Title
All Subject Keywords	Includes General Subject, Classification, and TRT Keywords
TRT Terms	Transporation Research Thesaurus Terms

Step 4: Click on “Search” button
