| Abstract |
The International Hydrofoil Society (IHS) is an all volunteer, not-for-profit organization of and for people who design, build, operate, or simply are interested in commercial, military, research, or recreational hydrofoils of any size, power (including human power!) or sail. IHS cooperates with the Society of Naval and Marine Engineers SD-5 Panel, the US Hovercraft Society, and other professional societies, universities, companies, and organizations dedicated to the advancement and distribution of knowledge related to Advanced Marine Vehicles (AMVs) vehicles. This includes the sponsorship of international symposia. Other sites are beautiful, but this site is fast, lean, and totally devoted to hydrofoils. The site contains membership information, bulletin board, historical materials, listings of books and reference materials and a glossary of hydrofoil terminology.
