Adjacent terms (Proximity)

To do a proximity search, enter the two terms in quotations followed by the tilde, "~", symbol. Add a number (1-25) after the ~ to search for records containing both terms, in any order, with no more than that number of other words between them.

If you enter:	You retrieve:
"statistics analysis" ~1	records containing statistics and analysis with either word appearing first.
"2000 annual" ~5	records containing 2000 and annual with either word appearing first and with no more than five other words between them
