Abstract In 1997, a team reviewed maintenance activities for impacts to habitat. The review looked at the impacts that specific maintenance activities could have on habitat and fishery resources that are listed as threatened or endangered under the Federal Endangered Species Act. This review was documented in the Oregon Department of Transportation Maintenance Management System Water Quality and Habitat Guide: Best Management Practices, June 1997. The 1997 document served as the foundation for a Programmatic Biological Assessment on certain ODOT road routine maintenance activities that has evolved into this manual. This manual reflects the Oregon Department of Transportations commitment to the Oregon Plan for Salmon and Watersheds. Acronyms, 7 appendices, 71 p.
