Abstract	Data are presented showing the injury and collision loss experience of the 198 most popular cars in the United States. The data, compiled by the Highway Loss Data Institute, are based on an analysis of insurance claims for millions of 1984-1986 model cars. In addition, a separate table--based on preliminary data for 1987 models--highlights autos with the best and worst collision experience. The data show that injury and vehicle damage can vary widely even among models of the same size and body type.
